Universal Login FAQTo alleviate any potential problems with Universal Login, please make sure your browser is set to accept cookies and save your work every half hour.
Here are the answers to some questions you may have about Universal Login.
There are three possible reasons.
A. You may be typing in
the incorrect login name or password. Make sure that you have correctly
typed in both your user name and password. If you have lost your password,
use our utility to look your password up or request your original welcome
letter if you never received it. You will need to provide your member name
and e-mail address.
B. Your browser may not
be set to accept cookies.
There are two different versions of INTERNET EXPLORER 5. Please review your browser and select the correct steps.
The Universal Login prompt automatically appears the first time you access one of your GeoCities tools (such as the Profile Editor, File Manager, GeoGuide Manager and GeoBuilder). You will be prompted to log in only one time per session.
If you don't accept cookies, you won't be able to successfully interact with GeoCities. The most common effect is that you will be required to log in every time you access a GeoCities tool. For more information about cookies, please go to:

To protect your privacy and any unauthorized access to your account, empty the browser cache and close all your browser windows after you’ve completed your work. Close your browser after using the File Manager to prevent unauthorized access to your account and files.
The session cookie automatically expires if you are idle on the GeoCities website for more than 90 minutes. This feature protects your privacy and helps minimize unauthorized access to your account and files. Simply log in again and you’ll be ready to go.
